§ Topic · AI in law firms

ChatGPT in the browser
is not a strategy.

AI in a law firm only earns its keep when it's wired into real processes — intake, documents, deadlines. We build that wiring: documented, audit-logged, DSGVO-compliant. No ChatGPT-tab heroics.

§ IWhere AI fails in firms

Three reasons AI stays a toy.

01

Single-user, copy-paste workflows.

One associate uses ChatGPT for drafts, copies into Word, edits. The next case starts from zero. No reuse, no review, no audit trail.

Tool, no process
02

DSGVO blocks adoption — silently.

Sending mandate text to a US chat tool is the elephant in the room. Most firms ban it informally, so adoption is hidden, untrained and inconsistent.

DSGVO blocker
03

No measurable result.

Lawyers say AI "saves time" but no one tracks where, how much, or whether the quality holds up. Without metrics, the budget conversation is impossible.

No proof
§ IIWhat changes

AI as a process layer,
not as a tab.

01

Self-hosted, DSGVO-compliant LLM layer.

We deploy an LLM gateway in your environment. Calls from the firm's tools (DMS, intake, email) route through it. No mandate data leaves the EU.

  • German server or your tenant
  • Audit log per call
  • Vendor switch in days, not months
02

AI built into existing workflows.

Document drafting, intake classification, mandate matching, deadline extraction — each as a workflow that lives where the work happens, not in a separate tool.

  • DMS-integrated drafts
  • Intake auto-classified
  • Mandate-aware document matching
03

Measurable: time, quality, cost.

Each automated step gets a baseline. Time saved, error rate, cost per call — visible in a dashboard. The budget conversation moves from belief to numbers.

  • Per-process baselines
  • Quality sampling
  • Cost-per-call dashboard

§ IVQuestions

Common questions

01Is this DSGVO-compliant?
Yes. We use either self-hosted open-weight models (e.g. Llama, Mixtral on your or our German server) or EU-hosted variants of commercial models (Anthropic via Microsoft Azure EU, Mistral La Plateforme EU). Mandate text never leaves the EU.
02Do we need ChatGPT Plus or Microsoft Copilot?
No, although we can integrate them where appropriate. The core architecture works without commercial subscriptions for each lawyer — the value comes from process integration, not seat licenses.
03Which use cases are easiest to start with?
Intake classification (case type detection from email or form), draft generation for standard letters (with template + mandate context), and deadline extraction from beA / inbox. Each is 2–4 weeks to live and has measurable ROI.
04What about hallucinations in legal contexts?
Every legally relevant output passes a human review step. The AI proposes, the lawyer confirms. We never auto-write legally binding text. The win is in pre-work (drafts, classifications, extractions), not in autonomous decisions.
